To thank the Manager for the considerable Graffiti cleaning works in the Lucan area in recent times, including engaging the contractor for specialised works in removing Graffiti from brick-work and pebble dashing. What additional Graffiti removal works are scheduled to take place in the near future in the Lucan, Palmerstown and Clondalkin areas.

To ask the Manager if he will consider implementing a concentrated promotional activity in estates around Ballyowen Castle Community Centre to advertise the availability of the Centre to associations, clubs and other organisations, in particular those catering for young people  between 12 and 18 years of age, as it is evident that the Centre has spare capacity particularly after 6 pm?

To thank the Manager for his support following my most recent requests, including agreement to install a toilet facility in Willsbrook Park by June 2007, and the more recent movement of goal posts in Griffeen Valley Park to assist Lucan Sarsfields GAA. Would the Manager please give details of when the goal posts on the juvenile pitch are scheduled to be moved. At time of submitting this question these goal posts have not been moved and this is causing considerable inconvenience to Lucan Sarsfields GAA.

 “To ask the Manager if he would consider the establishment of wooden pillars around the perimeter of the large open space in Whitebrook Estate in Springfield, given the fact that virtually all of the cul de sacs in this area have been provided with wooden pillars, if he would now consider a similar structure on the Green in question, as a means of improving from an aesthetic and an environmental perspective, the public open space, and if he will make a statement on the matter?"

To ask the Manager if he will request the Environmental Services Department to explore the possibility of relocating the Bottle Banks on Griffeen Road, Lucan, adjacent to Moyglas Estate, to a suitable location in the new Griffeen Centre, and if in the meantime more regular cleanups  of the present site of the banks can be carried out, as the extent of illegal dumping of late is completely unacceptable?

That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee congratulates Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club on winning €250 000 funding from the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism for the proposed All-Weather pitch at Griffeen Valley Park, and calls on the Manager to explore all options open to the Council and the Club, including a short term licence, to enable the project to start and draw down the finance allocated, pending  agreement on a long term lease for the land concerned, so that Lucan Sarsfields will be in a position to apply for further funding in 2008.
