As previously requested and agreed, would the Manager bring as a matter of urgency, details of a proposed scheme to install public lighting on that section of footpath in Hermitage Park, Lucan, that is an established pedestrian route, linking the public transportation on the N4/Ballyowen Lane and the densely populated residential areas off Ballyowen Road, St. Loman's Road and Ballyowen Lane. Since I reported details of the disturbing and vicious attack on a resident in Hermitage Park, a further similar incident took place in the week before Christmas at this location. Many people, including those who participated in the public consultation process I engaged in, believe that public safety would be enhanced by the provision of public lighting at this location.
