As previously requested and agreed, would the Manager bring as a matter of urgency, details of a proposed scheme to install public lighting on that section of footpath in Hermitage Park, Lucan, that is an established pedestrian route, linking the public transportation on the N4/Ballyowen Lane and the densely populated residential areas off Ballyowen Road, St. Loman's Road and Ballyowen Lane. Since I reported details of the disturbing and vicious attack on a resident in Hermitage Park, a further similar incident took place in the week before Christmas at this location. Many people, including those who participated in the public consultation process I engaged in, believe that public safety would be enhanced by the provision of public lighting at this location.
That this Committee rejects any proposals by Dublin Bus or the Department of Transport to reduce already inadequate bus services to Lucan and Clondalkin, is strongly of the view that Dublin Bus should increase and improve its services to and in the area, including new routes to Dublin City, new orbital routes to Clondalkin, Tallaght, Blanchardstown, Dundrum and Dun Laoghaire, additional buses, and requests the Manager to convey these views urgently to Dublin Bus, CIE and the Minister of Transport, and to remind the Minister and the transport companies of the investment made by SDCC in new roads and Bus Lanes in the County and in particular in and around Lucan and Clondalkin.

"That this Committtee calls on the Manager to arrange additional links with Tallaght Gardaí with a view to establishing if any of SDCC's tenants are responsible for attacks on the 77 bus which recently resulted in the service being cut after 6pm each night severely inconveniencing the Communities of Jobstown, Brookfield and Fettercairn and to deal with any such persons responsible severely".
That the Manager would bring a detailed report for discussion on the Lucan Village Weir Works. What stage are these works at, when will outstanding works be concluded, and what works are involved. This Committee appreciates that the Lucan Weir Works are of great benefit to Lucan, including showcasing a wonderful amenity in Lucan Village.
