MOTION NO. 15

MOTION: Councillor C. King

"That this Committtee calls on the Manager to arrange additional links with Tallaght Gardaí with a view to establishing if any of SDCC's tenants are responsible for attacks on the 77 bus which recently resulted in the service being cut after 6pm each night severely inconveniencing the Communities of Jobstown, Brookfield and Fettercairn and to deal with any such persons responsible severely".

REPORT:

The Allocation Support Officer has arranged a  meeting  with the Community Garda for the area with a view to obtaining information as to the identities of the alleged culprits for the anti social behaviour which has resulted in disruption to the bus service to a number of estates in West Tallaght.

This information will be  assessed and if it transpires that any of the alleged culprits reside in Council rented dwellings, they or their parents or guaridans will be summoned for interview to the Council Offices.

Formal warnings will be issued if appropriate as the Council would not be prepared to tolerate this type of anti social behaviour by either its tenants or members of their families.
