That this Committee congratulate the Council workers for their good work over the Halloween period, that Management provide a report on the preventative work and the clean-up work associated with Halloween 2009 including the cost of each and that the matter be fully discussed so that we can learn from the experience to the benefit of future years.
To thank the Manager for his very positive reply and action to my recent request for the sweeping and removal of leaves from the approach footpaths and roads to Lucan Village and also to the Litter Warden Ms. Helen McCarthy for her input into this matter.
That the situation along the area between the Covert and Kennelsfort Road be examined and whatever action is required (perhaps in conjunction with the Gardaí install CCTV) to bring it into and maintain it in a manner that reflects the fact that this is a residential area and a passage way for pedestrians. It is used as a hangout for anti-social behaviour including drinking parties and is perpetually strewn with empty beer cans, broken bottles, remnants of fires and general litter. Despite the best efforts of dedicated workers from this Council the area is a focal point for graffiti and is anything but a pleasant place to have to pass through or to live beside.
To ask the Manager to arrange a full clean up (of leaves, rubbish, etc) in Cappaghmore Estate, Clondalkin?
