That this Area Committee along with Dublin City Council look into the possibility of allowing the barrier gates which line the new Grand Canal pathway to be open on a pilot basis at certain times.  I would propose that the barrier gates be opened at a peak time on a pilot basis for one month, for example; opening the gates from 7AM to 9AM.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to arrange a site meeting in the vicinity of No 125 Watergate Estate to discuss possible solutions to the problem of nuisance and illegal parking at this location. Residents of this cul de sac are constantly being blocked in their driveways by people using Seán Walshe Park.

To ask the Manager, In the light of the response to my question last month in relation to the trees between Lealand Walk and Lealand Close, if they are to be preserved as part of the traditional hedgerow, will the Council ensure that they are cleaned up and that the litter, mattresses and tangle of undergrowth is removed in order to make them acceptable to the local residents?

That the Manager would present a report on the remedial works that have been done to the water pipes in the houses in St Mark's Estate which suffered loss of water last Winter because the pipes froze for a prolonged period.  How many houses have had their pipes relaid deeper and how many houses remain to be done?  What is the plan for the houses where there has been no remedial work done?

That the Manager would present a report on the extent of the consultation to date on the introduction of the one way system on the Nangor Road, Clondalkin and that Councillors would try to reach an all party political consensus on the issue in the interests of the health and safety of the pedestrians who use the road, particularly the pupils of the schools on the road who are very vulnerable at the moment.

To ask the Manager has any action been taken in relation to the removal of graffiti on the railway bridges at the Fonthill and Neilstown Roads? In response to a Member's Rep in May the graffiti at both of these sites was photographed by the Council however, no further action appears to have been taken.

To ask the Manager can public lighting be installed in the laneway between Old Church Avenue and Oldchurch Way?  Residents here find this laneway to be a focus for anti social behaviour and are afraid to use the laneway after dark.

To ask the Manager can a clean up of the area around the River Camac in Clondalkin Village centre be organised?  In view of the proximity of the river to the Civic Offices it presents a very bad image if the river area is littered and unkempt.
