That this Area Committee asks Chief Executive that a discussion takes place around local cafes and similar business's in Lucan village regarding the possibility of extending their premises onto the pedestrian areas (where possible). As covid19 has resulted in some of these business's been affected badly any modification of the area could be of benefit to local business's, such measures could help local business's make a recovery from any economic loss over the covid19 period and/or ensuring they remain in business. Any agreed plans to be discussed/consulted with the local business community.

The motion below was discussed at the December Tallaght ACM. The answer provided was not related to the question. The motion refers to a pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Old Bawn Road side of the junction only (see picture)
Has the manager had time to reassess the cost of the proposed project?

That this Area Committee calls for a costing re the provision of a cyclist and pedestrian bridge at the N81/Old Bawn Rd junction. This would be a continuation of the cycle path along the Whitestown Stream/ Watergate Park leading onto the black path in Dominic's, and would need to be designed with minimal impact on the environment leading toward Dominic's bridge.

This is an ideal opportunity to showcase Corkagh Park to all the participants - with this in mind, would it be possible for the course to be checked on a Friday to ensure it's free from potholes (especially around the lakes) and waterlogged paths?"

“That this Area Committee write to the Department of Education seeking immediate action to redress the shortfall of additional needs support in schools in this LEA. We ask also that the Department respond to this Area Committee giving their view as to the needs and challenges facing schools in the LEA’s in Dublin 24.

Parents, teachers and advocacy groups have all expressed concern at the potential impact of the NCSE (National Council for Special Education) plan to frontload SNA provision based on existing provisions rather than existing needs.

We call on the Department to engage in a fulsome discussion with schools regarding the shortfall in services, how that gap is to be closed and how we best develop inclusiveness and opportunity within education.”
