That this Area Committee requests SDCC to pilot the retention of small, deliberately shaped unmown areas around Lucan House lawns from early summer 2026 onwards, to allow native plant species to emerge, while maintaining sufficient area for amenity and event use. This approach would align with the County Development Plan, the Biodiversity Action Plan, and the SDCC Pollinator Action Plan and wildflowers could be documented with Biodiversity Ireland by local groups, which would further enhance the connection between the community and the demesne.
To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report on how many age-friendly units are currently vacant, including their locations and how long each has been vacant.
COMMUNITY GRANTS – FOR NOTING
That this Council calls on the Chief Executive to ensure that, where feasible, perpendicular parking is required in all new housing developments in order to maximise on‑street parking provision.
To ask the Chief Executive to confirm what steps SDCC has taken to identify all premises within its functional area that are operating as international protection accommodation without a valid notification, exemption or planning permission, and what action the Council proposes to take in respect of any such premises identified?
That this Area Committee commends Tegan Timmons from Clondalkin and a Coláiste Bride student who was the winner of the SuperValu Food of the Future Award at the 2026 Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, and also received third place in the Senior Individual category for her project, Nutritrack: Rethinking Healthy Eating and also won the one to watch award at South Dublin Enterprise awards.
That this Area Committee request an update on the County Development plan SLO on Saggart Paper Mills and what SDCC can do to ensure this site can be utilised as the place where the paper was made for proclamation, where James Connollys paper was published and Dean swifts Gullivar Travels.
