QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

That this Council requests the Chief Executive to provide Councillors with an update on the proposed permeability projects relating to the Paddocks and Esker Embankment areas, noting that a considerable period of time has elapsed since any substantive update was provided. The update should include the current status of each project works completed to date any investigations or assessments undertaken any further works or actions proposed any issues affecting progress and details of engagement undertaken or proposed with residents, stakeholders and other relevant parties in relation to these projects.

REPLY:

The Active Travel Team are progressing investigations into the Esker Permeability Scheme. The project team are currently in discussions with the environmental consultant regarding ground investigations. Vegetation clearance is required in advance of undertaking assessment on potentially contaminated material on site.

The next steps in the project involve completing the necessary assessments and investigations, after which key stakeholders will be consulted prior to initiating the statutory process.

The Active Travel Team will investigate the status of the Taking in Charge status of Hillcrest Heights and the Paddocks to ascertain whether the informal permeability link between these developments can be formalised with a bound surface.
