That the Manager initiates the selection procedure for the next few phases of the Traffic Calming Scheme and that Earlsfort be approved as one of the ones designated for the Lucan area and furthermore that a report on the implementation of the current Traffic Calming Scheme with an exact timescale for each area be provided.

That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee is seriously concerned about the negative effect of increasing traffic congestion in and around Lucan Village and on the N4 from the Spa Hotel to the M50, in particular with the huge volume of traffic using Lucan Bridge as a main Liffey crossing, and asks the Manager to prioritise, in consultation with the NRA, decisions on its own road plans in the area, including the urgent need for an alternative route from the N4 around Leixlip and Lucan to destinations in Fingal, and requests that he make a report on the matter.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to agree a suitable peripheral wall, including both the material to be used and the finish facing both the motorway and the residential areas, at Glenpark and Holliville, Palmerstown as part of the current upgrading of the M50.

In the absence of an Area Committee Meeting before the Autumn this Committee directs the County Council to provide an interim report on progress made to the July 2006 County Council Meeting.

“To ask the Manager when he intends to publish a draft polling scheme for the Dail constituency of Dublin South West, as required under the Electoral (Polling Schemes) Regulations 2005, if in this context he will ensure that the Draft Scheme being prepared will take account of recent housing developments in the Dublin South West constituency, specifically, the Ballycullen, Kiltipper, Fortunestown, The Belfry and The Square areas, and the need to provide new polling places in such areas to ensure voters have readily available places of polling close to where they live, which doesn’t require public transport, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”
