That the Manager reverses the practice of scaling down services, especially Estate Management and the Anti-Social Unit, in the Clondalkin Civic Offices.
Roads
Questions
Could the Manager please do something about cars parking 'all day' in the layby beside St. Mary's School, Lucan. Would it be possible to designate this space for 'short term parking' with relevant penalties for those who park all day in order to assit parents dropping and collecting their young children from the primary school. Also would the Manager please erect small bollards on the footpath adjacent to the school so that cars cannot park on the footpath making it difficult for pedestrians to pass, especially those with buggies and prams.
To ask the Manager to address the blind spot on the link road between Naas Road and the Monastery Road when turning from the link road left, onto the Monastery Road?
To ask the Manager whether a continuation of the footpath can be provided at Mill Lane where the majority of residents live?
To ask the Manager to reinstate the pedestrian entrance to Woodfarm Acres (from Kennelsfort Road Upper, close by the ESB sub-station) as it has become very uneven and is now in a dangerous state.
To ask the Manager for a progress report on my request (as per 13/02/06) on a pedestrian footpath from Kew Park to the old Celbridge Road?

That the Manager agrees to upgrade and make footpaths around Newcastle so that a round walk along Aylmer Road and Peamount Road past the hospital is possible in addition to paths to link Newcastle to the Grand Canal.
That the Manager takes steps following ongoing problems with residents parking on the green in
That this Committee call on the Manager to bring forward proposals for the upgrade of Kennelsfort Road Upper, from the Coldcut Road junction to the N4, and submit it as a matter of urgency for funding under the Urban Renewal Programme, or another relevant scheme. Can he consult with the local Community Council, residents of Kennelsfort Rd and with relevant local business interests along Kennelsfort Road to have the road at a standard that is reflective of the fact that it is the main artery of this settled community.
To thank the Manager for commissioning the Traffic Count in Lucan, including Heavy Goods Vehicles, that I requested at the November 2006 Road's Department Meeting of the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee. as confirmed at the Traffic Management Meeting of 23rd November 2006. Would he now bring forward this Traffic Count, including Tricks, by way of a detailed report for discussion at the December 2006 Road's Department Meeting of the Lucan Clondalkin Area Committee.
That the Manager installs safety measures on the Hazelhatch Road for the safety of pedestrians, e.g. footpaths.
That this Committee calls on South Dublin County Council to re-design and re-build the gap between Woodford Heights and Monastery Gate Estate with a view to:
a) Keeping the gap open for pedestrians.
b) Designing it in such a way so that it doesn't encourage groups to congregate there (e.g. no low walls, use of trees, initially encased with vandal proof protection).
That the Council carry out a survey of the back lane network in Palmerstown with a view to securing them in such a manner that they will no longer be available for illegal dumping and/or for unsocial activities as the present situation is a source of ongoing and severe trauma for adjacent residents as well as a drain on scarce Council and Garda resources and frustrating for the whole Community.

Questions
To ask the Manager can estates that have Management Companies in place be taken in charge?
To ask the Manager to include the residential area of Mill Lane, Palmerstown into the Palmerstown Village Design Plan as it was always part of Palmerstown Village and residents feel that they are the forgotten people of the locality; and if he will make a statement on the matter?

That the Manager initiates moves to complete the apartment complex, Aras Na Chluaine. The area along the river needs finishing. Also there is no boundary wall around the development.
That this Committee calls on the Council to maintain the current right of way with its landscaping from Glenaulin Road to Glenaulin Park as this is an amenity that has been enjoyed by the Community for in excess of 35 years.
That the Manager takes relevant action regarding residents' payment for submissions for planning applications. If a resident submits an application, and a decision is made against their submission, this money should then be used to ease any financial implications for the resident who may want to appeal to An Bord Pleanala.
