That the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee congratulates the County Librarian and her staff on the contribution that the Libraries in Lucan and Clondalkin make to supporting artistic, literary, educational  and cultural activities in their areas through hosting events, exhibitions and courses, and in the absence of Libraries in North Clondalkin and South West Clondalkin, encourages the Manager to further exploit the potential of the Community Centres in Rowlagh, Neilstown and Bawnogue, and the Quarryvale Sports and Leisure Centre as venues for similar activities so as to provide opportunities for the local communities, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

That this Committee requests that the Council acknowledges the nuisance caused to nearby residents through the inappropriate use of parks by some people and makes arrangements to deploy staff on a regular basis late in the evening and at night to deter the misuse of parks in the Lucan, Palmerstown and Clondalkin areas.

That the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee notes the Manager's Report on Motion 21 on the Agenda of the Council Meeting of 8th May 2006 and requests the Manager to identify areas in the Clondalkin and Lucan Electoral Areas for which the approval of the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government for pilot Community Warden Schemes will be sought, and to prepare a proposal for the Department, which will be informed by the ongoing deliberations  of the LGMSB and City and County Managers.

That the Manager would set out in a report, full details of the programme to up-grade the windows of Clondalkin homes, including the installation of double glazing windows. What specific areas or estates will be included in the pilot window programme, what is the time-scale for these works, the cost involved and following completion of these works, what procedures will be adopted to enhance the windows in the remaining areas and estates in Clondalkin.
