That the Manager writes to the ESB to request the allocation of funding to remove pylons through housing estates in Clondalkin.
That this Committee calls on the Council to initiate the process for conducting a plebiscite (as per my motion of 21/02/06) to determine a single spelling for PALMERSTOWN as its sometimes spelt - by this Council - as PALMERSTON (which is not recognised as accurate by the local community). This is leading to a lack of respect for a Council that cannot get such a fundamental issue as a place name correct or even be consistent.
Roads
Questions
To ask the Manager to erect bollards along the pathway within the layby at St Joesph’s & St Mary’s Schools in Lucan. Vehicles are parking on the footpath here causing an obstruction for parents walking with children and buggies forcing them to walk on the roadway ?
To ask the Manager to provide an update as to the provision of pedestrian lights on Griffeen Road and Griffeen Avenue Junction. This is to provide a safe crossing for parents and children attending
To ask the Manager to carry out a survey of all road signs in Hillcrest Estate Lucan. A number of these are missing in particular Hillcrest Grove. This is now a serious security problem as residents have encountered people calling late at night to their homes requesting assistance as to what road they are on and looking for directions?
To ask the Manager to request the ESB to examine all Public Lighting on the Lucan Main Road from the Statoil Station to the Woodies roundabout. Faults here have been reported by me on three occasions since November 2006. Each time the lights have been repaired only for them to shut off again after a two week period. The ESB must know where the fault lies, if they can detect problems each time the lights out are reported.
To ask the Manager to report in detail on the Footpath Survey conducted and to report on what specific works are planned to restore footpaths in the Lucan, Palmerstown and Clondalkin areas and within what time-scales?
To ask the Manager for a report on the progress of works on the Newcastle Road at the 12th Lock, including its scheduled completion date. What contingency plans are currently being considered for the local Community, including the local Residential Community, Lucan Pitch & Putt Club and the local business Community?

That this Committee calls on the Manager responsible to have double yellow lines installed at the hammer head on Road 1 Glenaulin Green.
That this Committee supports this Councillor in her efforts to ensure that the owner of Moneysavers shop stops using the footpath as a pavement shopping area and that the Council act in this matter.
In acknowledging the inconsistent boundary measures as part of the Outer Ring Road works in Lucan, where some sections have walls, some sections have timber noise barriers and some sections have railings with no noise attenuation measures at all, and in acknowledging the commitment of the Manager in response to my requests in June 2006 that a review of the boundaries on the Outer Ring Road in Lucan will take place when the contract works are completed and to engage a contractor to carry out this examination with a view to remedy such short comings in the scheme and that the Manager will now outline his proposals for the review so that this review will take affect as soon as the Outer Ring Road works are concluded.
That South Dublin County Council carry out a survey of the back lane network in Palmerstown with a view to securing them in such a manner that they will no longer be available for illegal dumping and/or for unsocial activities. The present situation is a source of ongoing and severe trauma for adjacent residents as well as a drain on scarce Council and Garda resources and frustrating for the whole Community.
That this Committee requests the Manager to ensure that the Proposed Park and Ride facility at Lucan Demesne will not impact adversely on existing Local Residential Amenity, including Weston Park, Kew Park etc.

That this Committee recommends to South Dublin County Council that consultation procedures within the Lucan/ Clondalkin area be upgraded forthwith in order to ensure that as many people as possible will be directly consulted about issues which directly affect them and for which we have responsibility and that such changes apply throughout the County as a whole.
That the Manager would provide an up-to-date report, including the date for the completion works of the walls in Foxborough Estate, Lucan, following my earlier representations, including Motions to the Planning Department Area Committee Meeting.
In acknowledging the historical significance of the lands at the Liffey Valley, including St. Edmundsbury, the future potential of these lands as part of a Liffey Valley Park and the determination of the local Community to preserve these lands from housing development, that this Committee requests the Manager to withdraw his support for the proposal for housing development as proposed by the Affordable Housing Partnership.
