That this Committee calls on the Manager to report on progress in bringing  Waterstown Park  to a point where it can be opened to the public and to bring forward a schedule for

  • the construction of a respectable entrance to the park from Waterstown Ave
  • completion of the car park
  • the eradication of anti-social behaviour from the park
  • construction of a suitable peripheral fence between the park and Riversdale Estate that will both enhance the residential area and prevent the kind of anti-scoial behaviour residents have had to endure and include a lockable gate between the estate and the park
  • appointment of park rangers to the park
  • restoration of the Harris' farmhouse
  • development of a childrens play area in the park

The above are particularly overdue given that these lands have been in Council ownership for over 20 years and they have yet to be made available to the public.
