That the Manager undertakes to carry out a pilot project of environmental awareness/enforcement in estates that suffer persistent dumping and significant littering, this project to include the erection at key locations of "No Dumping" signs or signs that indicate littering is an offence. In addition to this that in estates such as the above literature is issued using the "Plain English" guidelines set out by NALA and other languages that may be of use to get the message across highlighting the impact and consequences of illegal dumping and littering on the community at large.

"That this Committee once again calls on the Manager to arrange for the nessecary works to be carried out on the sewer at 29 to 35 Knockmore Park as residents are continuously experiencing environmental health problems each time there is a blockage where toilet paper and raw sewage covers the entire Road causing a significant health risk to residents, this continues to occur despite agreement last April (2007) that the works would be carried out as a result of a motion tabled at that meeting.
