That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee compliments the Manager and all Council employees for their commitment to maintain the provision of vital services to residents of Lucan and Clondalkin in the face of reduction of available funding, and in a context where SDCC receives from Government the lowest contribution in the country per resident from the Local Government Fund, recognises the flexibility demonstrated by staff in regard to work practices and productivity, and utterly rejects any proposal by Government to unilaterally cut the wages of SDCC employees, and requests the Manager to convey this expression of solidarity with our employees to the Minister for Finance.
To ask the Manager for an update on the removal of Graffiti from the back lanes in Palmerstown as promised.

REPORTS REQUESTED BY AREA COMMITTEES
(no reports)
" That the Manager provide a detailed report relating to progress on the change of use of the current NABCO Community facility at Donomore Park, Killinarden, as residents continue to suffer unnecessary anti-social activity as a result of the building lying vacant for so many years.
That this Committee asks the Manager to request the Gardaí to put in place a procedure so that the people of Palmerstown will be served by a single Garda Station. Over the years there has often been great confusion given that one area of Palmerstown is being served by Ballyfermot Garda Station, and another area of Palmerstown is being served by Ronanstown Garda Station. This Committee agrees that the current arrangement is most unhelpful to the residents of Palmerstown.
That the Manager would report in detail on the provision of funding for the staffing for the sports and recreational services at the Palmerstown Sports Complex at Pobalscoil Iosolde, and Clondalkin Sports Complex at Collinstown Community College. This Committee agrees that the provision and the enhancement of these services are of the utmost importance to the quality of life of the communities in Palmerstown and Clondalkin.
To ask the Manager for an updated report on works carried out in 2008 in Griffeen Valley Park, and if the Parks Department will be in a position in 2009 to implement any water features in the Park to promote biodiversity and support wildlife?
That the Council address the increasing traffic congestion and parking problem by writing to the Gardaí, and Department of Social & Family Affairs due to the increasing numbers attending the Clondalkin Social Welfare Office in Clondalkin.

That this Committee notes the decision of An Post to relocate the Lucan C and D Office from Tandy's Lane to the Fonthill Road, shares the concern of Lucan residents, particularly older people and persons who do not have cars, about the accessibility of the new location, and requests the Manager to write to An Post expressing these concerns, and requesting An Post to provide a number of options to Lucan residents who are notified that undelivered post is in the C and D Office, options to include re-delivery to the household involved at a designated time, re-delivery to nominated neighbours, and re-delivery to designated public agency premises in Lucan including Post Offices, and that the new arrangements and re-delivery options be adequately notified to residents.
To compliment the Manager on the Trojan work he has done and for his efforts over the past three years in securing funding and management arrangements for Palmerstown Community Sports Hall and that an up to date report be brought to this committee.
