That this Council Committee, concerned at the unprecedented amount of complaints coming from tenants regarding dampness and fungus spores in Council housing including new builds, and recognising the potential health effect this may be having on those tenants and their families, calls on the Manager to give an updated report on precisely how many units are effected in this area and outline the new measures and new responses, if any, that this Council proposes to introduce to combat this growing problem

That this Committee, while commending the additional work carried out by staff in relation to the water supply, calls on the Manager to report with respect to the Tallaght area (A) how many households are currently still without water for whatever reason be it airblocks, leaks etc, (B) how many households are currently awaiting inspection relating to same (C) what is the current expected wait for residents to have their systems inspected and fixed and (D) how many frontline staff i.e plumbers are currently assigned to this work in the Tallaght area.

That this Council Committee calls on the Manager to give a report outlining the difficulties some households experienced during the lack of water pressure and if a review will be carried out to investigate the difficulties experienced by tenants in three storey or more buildings with a view to putting in place new measures to facilitate these tenants in the event of the possibility of a future water shortage crisis.
That this Committee, while commending the work of staff dealing with the additional workload relating to the new bin system, calls on the Manager to provide a detailed report stating progress on the complete delivery of the service in the Tallaght area including chipping of bins, delivery of cards and issues relating to the waiver scheme and for the report to include the reasons for a large section of the Community being without cards and chipped bins at the time of the launch of the new system.
