To ask the Manager if it is intended to progress with proposals to provide homeless accommodation at Liscarne Gardens, Clondalkin thus going against the direct recommendation of this committee as expressed in the vote on Motions 17 and 18 at the March 2010 meeting; and to further advise on the timeframes for any formal Part 8 planning process linked to these proposals and secondly for when a proposal, if any, will be brought before the elected members of South Dublin County Council regarding agreement of the terms and conditions for the engagement of Novas Initiatives to manage and maintain the two council-owned houses at Liscarne Gardens, this being a reserved function as set out in Section 6(8) of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992?

That this Committee acknowledges the quality of the South Dublin Library Services, and particularly the services provided by the Lucan and Clondalkin Libraries, is aware of the fact that the Local Area Plan for Liffey Valley Town Centre includes a Regional Library, but requests the Manager, in the context of the current economic and development situation, to consider how the Council can provide Library Services in the immediate future for the residents, including children of Palmerstown and North Clondalkin, and to make a statement on the matter.
