Letter, dated 13th December 2011, from Clare County Council regarding Unemployment Assistance receipients and Local Authority 3 day working options
That this Council recognises the serious issue of pedestrian safety along the Newcastle Road in Lucan but insists that the proposed implementation of a local HGV ban coincides with a lifting of the existing HGV ban on the Outer Ring Road.
That South Dublin County Council condemns racism and calls on all Local Authorities nationally to do the same.
That the Manager presents a report on how much monies has been allocated under the flooding relief budget designated by the government in the aftermath of the recent flooding, and to outline what processes were used to assess claims and payments
That this Council calls on the Minister for Transport to direct unused funding paid by taxi drivers to the former Taxi Regulator towards the provision of security measures such as CCTV and security lighting in the interest of public and driver safety nationally.
That this Committee strongly objects to the continuing display of merchandise and transacting on the public pavement outside shops on Main Street. Furthermore, despite this issue being raised several times over the past few years by Members we are disappointed at the perceived lack of action and urgency in addressing the problem and request that it is sorted in the short term.
