That the Manager gives an updated report on the lack of progress in closing off the unofficial lay-by space on the Cloverhill Road beyond Palmerstown Woods which is a constant dumping spot (action previously agreed).
That this Committee whilst acknowledging the enormous amount of great work carried out by the Parks Department staff in the Clondalkin Electoral Area, ask that procedures are put in place to pick litter before grass cutting is carried out and also that when margins along footpaths are being cut there is a grass collection or sweeping action put in place.
To ask the Manager, can a Property Agent in the Clondalkin EA introduce clamping as a way for people to pay their management fees? If you have not paid your fees then you are not issued parking permits therefore, your car is clamped and one is fined. Do they need planning permission for this and is it legal?
To ask the Manager to organise a meeting for the Monastery Gate Close residents regarding the removal of the shrub/ bush at the open space? (Directions - at the end of Monastery Gate Close facing slip road of M50 high wall, come to a hammer head junction, small low stub wall)
"An bhféadfadh leis an gComhairle Contae an dá fhaiche i bPáirc na gCrann Glas i mBaile Pheire, Baile Átha Cliath 12 a ghlanadh go cúramach. Tá an iomarca bruscair ann faoi láthair.
Would the County Council clean the two fields in Greentrees Park in Perrystown, Dublin 12, carefully. There is currently an excessive amount of litter present."
To ask the Manager when the new traffic lights in Saggart will be turned on? Since the resurfacing works, cars are going through the cross roads at speed due to the removal of the ramp. It can be very dangerous at peak times to get across from the village to Castle Road as the traffic is travelling at speed.
That the Manager directs that the name stone for Clondalkin on the N7/Boot Road turn off, be positioned to face the traffic. Currently it is facing in the wrong direction, so it needs a 180 degree turn.

MAYOR'S BUSINESS
That this Council Condemns the Cuts in allowances to Adults with Special Needs who are participating in employment services at Cheeverstown. Council calls upon management at Cheeverstown to reverse the cuts, Council also Calls upon the Minister for Health to Intervene in the matter.
That the Council please address the issue of weeds and overgrowth by the fence at the field on Allenton Drive, this is becoming unsightly and is attracting illegal dumping?
To ask the Manager is there any progress on the issue of the removal of graffiti from the railway bridges coming into Clondalkin? I do not accept that there are any health and safety implications to Iarnród Éireann workers in the cleaning off of graffiti on the roadside walls of the bridges. There is an adequate footpath at all locations. Can the Manager insist that this work be carried out without delay. It is extremely demoralising to residents to have to pass this each day. To its credit, the Council removes graffiti promptly. Iarnród Éireann should be made to do the same.
To ask the Manager is there any update on the issue of shopkeepers on Main Street trading from the street? Specifically, has the legality of traders sitting on the street to conduct their business been investigated?
To ask the Manager is there monitoring being done on the progress of work on the Valhalla site on Watery Lane? Specifically, is the Manager satisfied that the conditions with regard to boundary treatment are being adhered to?
1. The boundary wall between the Valhalla site and Castle Grove was to be improved and heightened. Is this being done?
2. Mature trees were to be planted between the site and the houses Castle Grove. Residents are worried that there will not be enough space and wonder when the tree planting will commence. Can this be checked?
3. The boundary wall between the site and the houses at Watery Lane was to be heightened and improved. Is this being done?
To ask the Manager is it possible to turn the name stone at Boot Road so that it is legible for traffic coming into Clondalkin from the Naas direction? It probably needs to be moved back, it was to be done before.
To ask the Manager to pass on the thanks of this Committee to the staff of the Clondalkin Civic Offices for their hard work during the collection of the household tax and for their courtesy and assistance to the many customers who came to the offices to get information and to pay the charge? Their professionalism is much appreciated.
To ask the Manager is there any possibility of using the site at the back of the Mill Centre in Clondalkin or the old CB Packaging site for the skate park for the Clondalkin area?
To ask the Manager how does a Clondalkin resident with a physical handicap apply for allocation of a home in the Valhalla development?
To ask the Manager is there any progress on the issue of cleaning up the litter on the banks of the Camac beside the Civic Offices in Clondalkin?
To ask the Manager can the bins in the Clondalkin area be emptied more frequently? There is a serious problem with these litter bins being full to overflowing. This is particularly so at the weekends. People are trying not to litter but it is very difficult to put litter in the bins when they are overflowing.
Cathaoirleach's Business
That this Committee recommends the drawing up of a comprehensive programme of tree planting in the Clondalkin Village area. At present there is a dearth of trees in the Village. The following locations should be considered:-
1. Main Street. The paved area outside the Credit Union and in front of the old TSB building could be transformed into a beautiful plaza with the planting of some trees and the addition of some under tree seating. Also a mature tree could be planted in the spot now occupied by the derelict phone box that is soon to be removed. Trees in front of the Steering Wheel might detract and distract from the on street trading that so annoys residents.
2. Tower Road. There is plenty of room to plant trees behind the wall in the car park in front of Tuthills / AIB etc. This would greatly enhance the Village centre area. Some of the trees outside the church cottages are dead and need to be replaced.
3. Monastery Road. Some trees can be planted behind the wall at the monastery shopping centre opp Laurel Park. Also in the grass verge at the shops at Castle Park opposite historic Tully's Castle.
