Noting the recent case of a migrant woman who, pregnant as a result of rape and despite suicidal ideation, was denied an abortion - suffering horrific physical and mental suffering at the hands of the State - this Council calls on the Government to hold a referendum in the remainder of its term so the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution can be repealed.
That the Chief Executive present a report on public consultation mechanisms used by the Council and that the report explores the introduction of new methods of communication with a view to encouraging engagement and increasing public participation.
