"To ask the Chief Executive if he can arrange to have the area at the point where Castle Lawns and Balrothery estate inspected. The area which is closed off by palisade fencing has become overgrown and is also attracting vermin. Can the Chief Executive also confirm if this can be added to the regular programme of works for the area?"

Councillor P. Foley

"That this Area Committee recommends to the relevant SPC that the grounds in Dodder Valley park (behind Scoil Carmel and down to Mount Carmel Park) - which was previous earmarked for a grass running track - be developed for pitches for the use of Knocklyon Utd.

The grass running track should in turn be put on the grounds known as Kennedy field between Spawell Roundabout and the M50 - which was earmarked to be developed as an extra pitch for Knocklyon Utd.

Only if the extra pitches are developed in Dodder Valley Park will Knocklyon Utd. be in a position to accommodate the Running track.

Knocklyon Utd, Bros. Pearse and Templeogue Athletics Club are all in favour of these plans."

"That the Chief Executive with the aid of a report confirm what impact the 30 minutes free parking has had on trade in Rathfarnham village, you will recall that there were real concerns among some traders that extending the free parking limit would have a negative impact on trade.  Have there been any complaints from either the general public or traders with regard to parking? This is a pilot arrangement, is it likely that this pilot will be made more permanent, assuming positive overall effect on trade."

The grass cutting programme in place this Summer has been a dramatic improvement from previous summers and the management are to be commended for that. While the frequency of grass cutting has much improved the grass is still not being cut very short. To ask the Chief Executive, is there a reason for this?

I understand we only have a short time left in the grass cutting season for this year but would it be possible that next year the grass be cut tighter?
