Housing Policy 12: Public open space

Some new developments (eg Stockingwell Wood) were sold off plans with promises for playgrounds or planted green space which were subsequently scrapped.  Can we enter a provision in our development plan to insist that all new developments have some landscaped spaces?

"That this committee asks for a report and an Update on Q13 from April '15 and ask how can this question below be progressed?

(CMAS Clondalkin May ACM - "To ask the Chief Executive to look at the use of our Civic offices in Clondalkin to promote diversity, inclusion and equality in displays and will aim to mark events in our Civic Offices and that the Social Inclusion department of SDCC to be involved in this, to look at the use of the downstairs meeting room as a room that could be used to hold such events and upgrade this room as a civic events room? Also the notice board in main lobby to promote such events".")

To endeavour to include a play space in every new development (except retirement units etc.) - this need not be a traditional playground, but just a more modern area for recreation, eg tricycle tracks

" That the Council liaise with the relevant authority to mark Rathfarnham on exit 12 from the M50, alongside Knocklyon.  At the moment, it is marked on the Dundrum exit which is actually a longer distance from Rathfarnham."
