That this Committee calls on the Manager to arrange for an inspection of all apartments on Avonbeg Drive with particular reference to the chimneys and gables where large pieces of plaster are falling off and the overall structure of the plaster appears to be disintegrating.

That this Council Committee in view of the increasing amount of burglaries and access by criminal elements into some of the Council Housing in housing Estates like Russell Square and some of the housing in the Fettercairn area calls on the Manager to carry out a review and introducing housing design changes with a view to making access more difficult to criminal elements.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to arrange for the 15% of housing units currently under construction at Killinarden Heights to be designated Social as opposed to Affordable taking into account the Council's recent limited options in the delivery of 'New Build Social Housing.

That this Council Committee concerned about the design and difficulties for families accessing some Council accommodation particularly accessing stairs with young children and shopping, the inherent dangers from balcony railing height for young children, possible fire exiting and other such difficulties, agrees to call on the Manager to do a report and review of existing housing stock with a view to addressing some of these issues.

"To ask the Manager to revisit the lane-way between Templeogue wood and Cypress Grove Sth which was the subject of a recent clean up. I would suggest that it would be a good idea to treat the weeds etc. with an appropriate weed killer rather then just cutting them. I believe that in the long run this would be a more cost effective method?"

That this Committee calls on the Manager to provide a submission to the Minister for the Environment towards the Waste Policy in light of the Ministers recent response to the committees previous call for a pilot glass bottle refund scheme in the Tallaght area - the submission to focus on the Tallaght area only.

That a comprehensive report be provided on the former Cleanbuild site at Bohernabreena Road and that the following matters be addressed:

1. The lack of enforcement of the conditions of the licence despite breaches being brought to attention of Council in 2006/7

2. Action taken by Council since Dec 2008, and the cost of same.

3. Further likely costs, amount recovered to date (if any), and action being taken(and against whom) to recover all costs and pospects of success or otherwise

4. What lessons have been learned

That this Committee calls on the Manager to provide a report with respect to the placing on Council property such as estate boundary walls/fences of advertising banners/boards indicating for sale/to let information by estate agents, to indicate in the report if this practice is legal and if not what the Manager proposes to do in relation to this problem in the Tallaght area.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to arrange for additional efforts to be made by the cleansing section to target the ‘litter black-spots’ in the Tallaght area identified in the recent IBAL survey while acknowledging the work carried out by individual staff members and the Community and questioning the relevance, affect and accuracy of the IBAL survey itself.

That this Council Committee calls on the Manager to give a report outlining what measures he/ she proposes to introduce to encourage more households to return and avail of the Councils waste collection service.

That the Manager outline what service will be provided to residents groups who wish to ensure that bonfires are not built on public green areas for Halloween. In particular that the Orwell Residents Association who have through much hard effort on their part prevented the annual destruction of the Green and saved the Council money in not having to reinstate this green.

Halloween will fall on a Sunday this year

That this Committee calls on the Manager to report on the progress made in relation to the provision of St Patrick’s day celebrations in the Tallaght area next March and that the ‘think local’ initiative be considered as part of these plans as each year celebrations do not take place in the area, thousands of Euro are spent outside of Tallaght and the County where families are forced to travel to celebrate.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to ensure that the work necessary to finish Templeogue House is carried out as a priority project in 2011 and that the Manager restates their commitment to carry out work to Templeogue House in 2011 and to outline the works programme which was referred to in the reply to my Motion in January 2010.  

“The Council's Three Year Rolling Capital Programme does not provide funding for works on Templeogue House in 2010, but there are works programmed for 2011”.
