This Committee calls on the Manager, in view of the crisis facing many of those involved in the construction industry and in view of the public monies involved,  to confirm if there  is sufficient safeguards in place to monitor contractors, sub contractors and sub contractors of sub contractors, employed in public housing projects schemes  in the County area,  that they are tax compliant,pension compliant and also compliant with the industries, registered employment agreement.

That this Committee urges the Dept. of Environment to sign an Order to exclude the Tallaght Town Centre from the Rent Supplement Scheme, and seeks the support of all elected members of this Council.

"That this Committee, calls on the Manager to provide a report on the current status of the (a) Housing Adaption Grant, (b) Mobility Aids Grant and (c) Housing Aid for Older Persons Scheme - in terms of the delivery and funding of the schemes in the Tallaght area with a view to the Committee and the Council using their positions to ensure the schemes remain and the applicants continue to avail of these vital grants".
