In light of the recent fire at the glass house the Tallaght area committee seek a detailed plan on how DFB would deal with this situation in Current and scheduled 9 story apartments blocks.
In light of the recent fire in the Glashouse Apartments and the fact that several people had to be rescued or lead to safety from the high rise complex, and given the number of high rise buildings already built or planned for Tallaght and the surrounding area, that this Area Committee writes to the Chief Fire Officer of Dublin Fire Brigade requesting that he ensures that an Aerial Platform is deployed on a permanent basis to Tallaght Fire Station.

In response to the reply to Question 17 from the October County Council, if €5,000 of the €50,000 of funding announced by Minister Catherine Martin for every local authority in 2021 under the Community Strand of the Decade of Centenaries Programme, is being allocated to local groups, what is the remaining €45,000 being allocated to; is there a closing date for proposals; and can non-history societies e.g. Tidy Towns groups apply?
This committee asks that the Chief Executive supports the residents in Adamstown area with outdoor events in particular weekly Story Telling in Our Parks (Tandy's Lane). To ask that pop up library events be included in the parks. Such events will be run by local volunteers including TY students and any support from libraries re materials and experience story tellers would be welcomed.
