MOTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

"That this Area Committee agrees to consider acquiring for South Dublin County Council and the citizens of Saggart, (i) lands known as the Citywest Executive Golf Course which is currently a rewilded biodiversity rich habitat and could act as a municipal park between Saggart and Citywest, and (ii) the site in Saggart Village referred to in SD18A/0202, which was recently subject to a vacant site levy and would make a great South Dublin County Council led mixed use plaza and residential development."

REPORT:

The acquisition of additional land by the Council is on the basis of meeting strategic needs and from the perspective of EETD on the basis of instructions from another Council Department. EETD have no such instructions regarding either area of land referred to in the motion.
