MOTION: Councillor T. Costello

"To discuss and agree a solution to help reduce the Anti Social behaviour in the Carrigmore / Cushlawn end of Sean Walsh Park?"

REPORT:

A provision has been made in the improvement works programme for the current year for the installation of public lighting within the park in the vicinity of St Martin's School.  This work will be done in the coming months it is expected.

Previous discussions were held regarding restricting access to this part of the park at certain access points and at certain times of the day however no agreement was reached on the matter.   The public realm section will consider the implementation of any measures that the area committee wish to see in place.  As mentioned in previous reports there is regular and ongoing contact between the Council and the Gardai regarding these issues in all parks and this will continue to be pursued by the Council in any way possible.
