That the Chief Executive writes to the Garda Commissioner outlining the clear desire from the experience of Palmerstown residents that they be primarily served from one Garda station, rather than split in two, to emphasise the geographic constraints of the main population areas because of the M50 running alongside much of the area; to point out that emergency calls will provide cover from other areas in any event and to ensure this issue can be discussed in more detail with the Community Council and other stakeholders at a future point.

That the Chief Executive reports on the Part 8 for Proposed Works at Lucan Village Green and Main Street in advance of this being dealt with by members at the wider County Council meeting and responds to the specific queries from the correspondence attached, namely, whether the regular parking spaces in area S2 is 34 or 37 or 43; whether the net loss of spaces has been incorrectly reported throughout the consultation process or if the number of spaces has been overstated in the parking surveys (as it appears that it must be one or the other); to clarify whether the figures in the Clifton Scannell Emerson & Associates study or the Tracsis study are correct as they appear to contradict each other; these all being important clarifications required in advance of any deliberations on the day; and if a statement can be made on the matter.

To ask the Chief Executive for a progress report on the reopening of the refurbished Lucan Leisure Centre, following on from last month's motion, and, while welcoming the ongoing progress in sorting out premises for Esker Boxing Club, as requested, provides clarification that Naíonra Mháirín has been notified in good time of its space availability so as to meet health and safety requirements for September, provides confirmation that Lucan Shotokan Karate club, Newlands Taekwon-Do Club and White Lotus Yoga, have now been contacted directly; and if a statement can be made on the matter.

"That this Area Committee produces a traffic management plan for Alymer Avenue, Newcastle. This was once a quiet cul de sac and has now become a rat run. All the adjoining new estates: Castle Church, Castle Lyon, and The Heath are interlinked and use Alymer Ave. to avoid the traffic ramps and traffic lights on Main Street, Newcastle.

That this Council calls on the Taoiseach to immediately implement a set of measures to tackle the Cost of Living Crisis that is Devastating Families across the State from both Working and Middle Class Demographics, which has seen 70% increases in Heating Oil, 30% increase in Gas, 25% increase in Electricity, 8% Increase in Rents and €1,200 average increase in petrol prices for the average driver along with increases in Groceries and other Essential Goods. This has resulted in the Highest inflation rates in 20 years of more than 5,5% and that's without the Governments scandalous proposed increases in Carbon Tax at a time of crisis. These measures at the least should include: The introduction of a living wage, the introduction of a cost of living payment based on annual income, the scrapping of Carbon Tax Increases, a ban on Rent increases for 3 years, Increase in Fuel allowance criteria, Removal of VAT on Energy Bills during winter Months, the Establishment of a discretionary utility debt Fund. These measures should form a base for tackling the crisis for struggling Families across the State.

That this Council writes to Minister for Housing and Local Government, Darragh O'Brien, to support his Department's initiative of setting up a working group to examine the possibility of utilising the Housing Act of 2013 to allow for local authority rents to be withdrawn directly from social welfare payments where tenants in receipt of welfare are more than 3 months in arrears.
