"That this Committee support The Irish Lung Fibrosis Association that provides research, education and support for lung fibrosis patients and their families in Ireland. They are looking for some storage space locally or near to Clondalkin. Storage is mainly for leaflets (paper)/ information that is provided to patients on their diagnosis and to the healthcare professionals in hospitals who look after those patients. We ask that South Dublin County Council look at what supports they may be able to provide to assist this work and look at providing community support to them."
That this Council supports the decriminalisation of drug use, meaning that people will no longer be made criminals simply because of their use of a drug: that people's drug use should be dealt with as a public health issue rather than as a criminal issue and that the resources currently used to process the 72% of drug convictions that are for personal possession should be redirected to treatment and support services and to more effective policing of the drugs trade. We commit to sending this motion to the Minister for Justice and the Minister of State for Public Health, Wellbeing and the National Drugs Strategy for their consideration and response.
To ask the Chief Executive if taking in charge estates with green spaces is considered Council land? Report to explain what exactly taking in charge means ?
To ask the Chief Executive to facilitate a multi-agency meeting to discuss the anti-social behaviour in the laneways between Glenaulin Green, Oakcourt and Wheatfield Road as previously committed to.
To ask the Chief Executive to provide a report on the process regarding pitch allocations for sports clubs. To ask that the report includes details of the current pitch allocation policy and if this same policy will be used for the new Tandy's Lane and Airlie Park.
This committee calls on the Chief Executive to provide an update to members in regards to the examination and review of the roads connectivity existing and future with the view to remove HGV's of the Newcastle road which has been demonstrated many times via motions tabled at area committee over the last number of years, that the road design has unprecedented exits and entrance and has an high footfall of pedestrians/cyclists and school going children. With the newly built Celbridge link road due to open soon and the planned Clonburris link road, to ask Chief Executive to look at other possible linkages to alleviate traffic including the HGV's . If a detailed map of Lucan roads including projected ones could be provided as part of the response.
