This committee welcomes the 12th Lock plans and looks forward to part 8 plans going on display. Its been discussed at various meetings the demand for crèche facilities in the Lucan area and this question seeks commitment from Chief Executive that crèche will be part of the part 8 plans.

That the Council provides an update on recorded derelict properties in Palmerstown, North Clondalkin and Lucan in terms of actions taken over the last five years to get these properties functional again, to report on cases that have been resolved as a result of enforcement action over the last 12 months; to clarify if properties where there is someone living, but are overgrown to a neglectful level with trees in gardens towering over neighbouring dwellings can be considered for such a register of derelict properties, or if separate action is required; and if a statement can be made on the matter.

To ask the Chief Executive if the Council will work with Waterways Ireland to collate and clear dumped material in and along the Grand canal from the 9th Lock to the 12th Lock as this has been reported as being a blackspot, despite being increasingly used by cyclists and pedestrians; and if a statement can be made on the matter?
