MOTION NO.2

MOTION: Councillor M. Lynch

That the Council undertake urgent pruning of the trees and hedges on Willowbank Drive near the junction of the R817 which is causing visual obstruction for drivers resulting in health and safety issues particularly during school drop of and collection times.

REPORT:

The trees and hedges at the junction of Willowbank Drive and the R817/Ballyroan Road have been inspected by staff from the Council's Public Realm Section.  Arrangements will be made to cut back any trees and hedges in the area that are interfering with driver sightlines at this junction and possibly presenting a health and safety risk.  There are overhead electricity lines at this location therefore a specialist contractor will have to be engaged to carry out this work.
