That the Council writes to the ESB and Eircom asking that they keep their boxes at the entrance to Woodfarm Acres free of graffiti and to business premises in Palmerstown Village with the same request, while complimenting Council staff in the excellent work they do against heavy odds to keep the County public areas free of graffiti and that a concerted effort be made to eradicate the practice at the pedestrian entrance to the Covert from Kennelsfort Road. This area is nothing short of a disgrace between graffiti and dumping of rubbish.
To ask the Manager what use is to be made of the old stone material taken from the old Neilstown Bridge, if all of the stone is to be moved to Corkagh Park, and if the North Clondalkin Community Development Association has been consulted about the possible use of some of the stone for a piece of public sculpture in the north Clondalkin area?
That the Manager would present an up-to-date and detailed report for discussion on the New Leisure Centre and Swimming Pool for Lucan. Would he specifically outline the planning and consultation process associated with this project and assure this Committee and the Lucan Community of the Council's commitment to provide this new facility despite restrictions on government spending, including delays in funding grants by the Department of Arts, Sports & Tourism, as previously outlined in response to my ongoing representations for a New Sports and Leisure Facility, including a Swimming Pool for Lucan, and reiterate that the Council remains committed to allocating the required capital funding to deliver the New Sports and Leisure Facility, including a Swimming Pool in Lucan.

That this Committee supports the initiative, whereby supermarkets would assist by providing Plastic Collection Points for the return of all plastic materials in which they sell their goods. Such an initiative would be of great benefit to the local community and, an ideal Pilot Project which would be welcomed in the Lucan area.

That this Committee calls on the Manager responsible to proceed with the long promised Palmerstown Village renewal as this has been with planning for almost two years and the previous job done a number of years ago has resulted in the footpaths being in a very dangerous state and the traffic associated with the M50 works has caused further deterioration of the road surface. This Village that has such potential is becoming an eyesore due to neglect.

To ask the Manager if the Recycling Service offered by the Council can be expanded to allow the placing of additional plastics in Green bins, to match the service currently provided by City Bin Co. whereby they allow Plastic Bottles, Clean Wrappings and Clear Bags to be placed in their Green bins?
To ask the Manager what measures are in place to enforce the “dogs on a leash” policy in Griffeen Valley Park given the increasing number of dogs roaming unleashed in that park, and what penalties apply to owners who fail to leash their dogs, and if he will ensure the strict enforcement of that policy?
To ask the Manager whose responsibility is it to mow the overgrown grass verges on the approach road to Tullyhall and Rossberry Estates, Lucan? And, if the responsibility lies with the Developer, can the Manager request the Developer to undertake this work as soon as possible?
