To ask the Manager if there are bye laws within the tenancy agreement that can be implemented barring such tenants from holding parties within the residence or consuming alcohol on the basis that this behaviour has led to anti social behaviour or a general nuisance to neighbours over a persistent amount of time?  Has the Council used such powers?  Over the last few weeks I have been contacted by residents in Clondalkin because of the behaviour of a minority of residents engaging in such acts every weekend?

Would he specifically outline the planning and consultation process associated with this project and assure this Committee and the Lucan Community of the Council's commitment to provide this new facility despite restrictions on government spending, including delays in funding grants by the Department of Arts, Sports & Tourism, as previously outlined in response to my ongoing representations for a New Sports and Leisure Facility, including a Swimming Pool for Lucan, and reiterate that the Council remains committed to allocating the required capital funding to deliver the New Sports and Leisure Facility, including a Swimming Pool in Lucan.

Cathaoirleach's Business

That this Committee calls on the Manager responsible to proceed with the long promised Palmerstown Village renewal as this has been with planning for almost two years and the previous job done a number of years ago has resulted in the footpaths being in a very dangerous state and the traffic associated with the M50 works has caused further deterioration of the road surface.  This Village that has such potential is becoming an eyesore due to neglect.

Mot (7)
Submitted by:
Councillor T. Ridge

Cathaoirleach's Business

That the Council writes to the ESB and Eircom asking that they keep their boxes at the entrance to Woodfarm Acres free of graffiti and to business premises in Palmerstown Village with the same request, while complimenting Council staff in the excellent work they do against heavy odds to keep the County public areas free of graffiti and that a concerted effort be made to eradicate the practice at the pedestrian entrance to the Covert from Kennelsfort Road.  This area is nothing short of a disgrace between graffiti and dumping of rubbish.

Mot (16)
Submitted by:
Councillor D. Keating

That this Committee supports the initiative, whereby supermarkets would assist by providing Plastic Collection Points for the return of all plastic materials in which they sell their goods.  Such an initiative would be of great benefit to the local community and, an ideal Pilot Project which would be welcomed in the Lucan area.
