That this Committee is disappointed that some of the recent decisions of Dublin Bus have reduced the service available to Lucan residents, is concerned about the level of consultation by Dublin Bus with the Council including elected members, and requests the Manager to write to Dublin Bus seeking a meeting at which the company will be prepared to present its short term plans, with a meaningful level of detail about new routes additional bus numbers, for improving the bus service to all parts of Lucan during the period 2008 to 2010, i.e before the completion of the Kildare Route Project.

That the Manager would report on the most recent meeting with the Department of Transport on the Council's Proposed Pilot Project for School Transportation for South Dublin.
That the Manager would report in detail on how a short road widening programme, such as the Newcastle Road Quality Bus Corridor, would not have concluded by now, when works commenced during the summer. Also would the Manager agree to take the necessary steps to ensure that adequate safety measures are now put in place to provide safe road crossing facilities for children from local estates, including Westbury Court, who have on many occasions have been left to their own devices when leaving Westbury Court Estate early in the morning and need to cross the busy Newcastle Road under re-construction to get to local schools on the other side of the Newcastle Road.
That the Council ensure that the Affordable Housing policy is just and fair in its treatment of individuals.
That South Dublin County Council review its policy on the charging of development levies to County Dublin Vocational Education Committee for the building of dedicated extensions to existing VEC school buildings where the extension is to be used completely to provide education and training programmes for disdvantaged groups of participants, as the imposition of the development levy may make some VEC initiatives for disadvantaged groups impossible to realise.

To ask the Manager if he will write to the HSE, Cherry Orchard, requesting that the plot of land owned by the HSE at St. Loman's Road, Lucan (opposite to Mount Andrew Estate, and adjacent to Liffey Valley Park Estate) be tidied up, and if he will also enquire what plans the HSE has for the land?
"To ask the Manager to put traffic calming measures in place along Whitechurch Grove with agreement with the local residents?"
"To ask the Manager to review the traffic calming roundabout on Anne Devlin Road, taking into account its safety aspect with cars driving straight over the roundabout and cars not giving way as to the highway code?"
"To ask the Manager to review the traffic light sequence at the junction on Butterfield Avenue, Ballyroan Road, Firhouse Road and Old Bridge Road. When a motorist is turning right from Old Bridge Road onto Firhouse Road the traffic signals are briefly at variance with one another when lights are changing which is confusing for motorists?"
