That the elected members of this Council request the  National Roads Authority to withdraw their misleading advertisement in connection with the introduction of the Barrier-Free -Tolling on the M50. This on the basis that motorists are being mislead into registering for a free Tag, which in reality is costing them €12 per year. We demand that the NRA should abandon this €12 charge and refund the motorists who have registered to date.

To ask the Manager for an-up-to-date and detailed reply following my prolonged representations on the vacant lands adjacent to Lucan Educate Together National School, Lucan?  As previously stated these lands would have significant potential for educational/community benefits rather than not being utilised in the future.

To ask the Manager to write AGAIN to the Minister for Education and Science as a matter of great urgency, requesting the Minister to accelerate the development of the 2 storey, 16 classroom permanent building required by Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada, Lucan?  Since being established 3 years ago, Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada has been in temporary accommodation, spending 1 year in Lucan Sarsfield’s GAA and 2 years in Coláiste Cois Life, and with an additional 60 children starting in September 2008; the total number of children in Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada has exceeded 180.  (My detailed email refers).

That the Manager would present a detailed and up-to-date report for discussion on progress made with the Campaign for a new Local Second Level School in Lucan South since my most recent representations on this very urgent matter, specifically since the meeting that took place with Officials from the Department of Education and Science School Planning Unit. What progress resulted from the contact made by the Department’s technical staff to the Planning Department in an attempt to arrange a joint site visit to inspect the Local Area Plan lands?  In addition can it be confirmed again that this new Second Level School will accommodate 1,000 pupils, and what is the up-to-date report on efforts to have this school opened by September 2009? (My detailed email refers)

That the Manager investigates complaints regarding environmental pollution at Behan's Quarry off the N7, including:

(1) silt deposits from the quarry on to the N7 creating dust clouds across the carriageway, and

(2) dust pollution from trucks exiting the quarry where truck loads are not covered by tarpaulin or similar pollution preventing methods resulting in dust clouds across the carriageway.
