MOTION: Councillor E. Maloney

"That the Committee receive a report on the legal status of the additional Disabled Parking Spaces in Tallaght Village, and request the surface painting of both spaces."

REPORT:

There are two disabled spaces on the Main Street area of Tallaght Village.  The space at 512 Main Street has both statuary road markings and disabled parking sign and was provided following the receipt of consent from the Garda Commissioner. The second space is located outside the new Bank of Ireland premises on foot of the planning permission for that development. It is not yet in charge of the Council.

The statuary road markings, as described in the regulation S.I. 181 of 1997, is Regulatory Road Marking 015 and consists of a wheelchair symbol in a parking space.
