This Committee calls on the manager to investigate and resolve the difficulties being experienced by St Marks GAA Club Springfield ,Tallaght with 2 of the pitches allocated to them following the removal of the ditch running near them and subsquent creating even worse flooding and water retention in the immediate area
That this Council deplores the announcement by Minister Martin Cullen, in a written reply to a Dail Question on 24 September regarding the Government's Local Authorities Swimming Pools Programme, that "it is not intended to launch a new Programme at this time", condemns the delaying tactics used by the present Government in its responses to queries from this Council about the Programme, and requests the Manager to make a statement on the consequences for the Council's Water Leisure Strategy, and the Council's plans to build a swimming pool in Lucan, of the Government's decision not to launch a new Programme, in contradiction to repeated indications to this Council about the imminent re-opening of the Programme.
To ask the Manager if he will provide an updated report on the Question to the Manager tabled at the February 2008 Council meeting regarding making available to tenants of Council houses and flats/apartments interest free loans to finance (a) replacement windows and/or (b) replacement fitted kitchens, along the lines of the schemes operated by Dublin City Council and if he can provide information on that scheme and if he will make a statement on the matter?

To ask the Manager for an updated report on the Council's Community Arts Centre Project, including information on the arrangements being put in place for the management of the Centre and if he can provide information on the anticipated financial resources to be available to run the Centre?

That this Council endorses the 10 pilot actions arising from the Roma per Kyoto Conference held in Rome on 18th September 2008 and in doing so, notes the valuable role played by the Institute of Technology, Tallaght in supporting this process as a partner in an EU Life Program funded project. In addition this council invites Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council to support this resolution and calls on the Minister for the Environment to ensure actions to protect taxpayers in this country from any additional excessive financial burdens due to non-compliance with the Kyoto protocol.
