QUESTION NO. 13
QUESTION: Councillor E. Coburn
"To ask the Manager to provide an update on the current works in Prospect Manor resulting from the Boherboy Water Scheme and to detail when the pedestrian bridge will be re-opened?"
REPLY:
Substantial reinstatement work on the Boherboy Water Scheme as it goes through Prospect Manor Estate has been completed by the contractor. This work includes the grass reinstatement through the green area at the entrance to the estate off Stocking Lane and the blacktop reinstatement of the roads through the estate including the link road between Prospect Manor Drive and Meadows and Prospect Manor Avenue. The only outstanding reinstatement work to be completed is the grassed area between Prospect Manor Avenue and the Owendoher River and footbridge.
This reinstatement is dependent of the completion of work on safety rails from the footbridge up the hill for a short distance and across the Springvale Estate. The safety rail subcontractor is on site at the moment putting in the foundations for the rails these rails should be erected and in place by weekending 7th November, 2009. Next week the footpath down to the footbridge from Prospect Manor Avenue will be blacktopped and the grass reinstated thus completing all reinstatement in Prospect Manor Estate by the 14th November, 2009. All of this work is weather dependent.
The footbridge will be officially opened to the public by Saturday 14th November, 2009.
