That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on how this Council supports schools in the County, including schools that make a particular effort on environmental matters such as reducing, reusing and recycling? Would the Manager also report on how the Council can continue to support and encourage schools, including children, students, teachers and parents who participate in such school projects and lead by great example?

That this Council noting:
the significant cost and energy efficiencies available from the use of LED public-lighting;

That this Council expresses it's alarm that the Greater Dublin Area water supply network is operating at above 96% capacity and requests the Manager to immediately consult with the Managers of other local authorities in Greater Dublin Area to seek to urgently expedite the Dublin Region Water Supply Project, including bringing proposals before the elected councils regarding the selection of a new major water supply source, such that the statutory planning process can begin in 2010.

To ask the Manager to write to the Minister for Education and Science Batt O'Keeffe TD, and advise to the Minister that this Council asks that he responds as a matter of urgency as to what new initiatives he proposes to introduce to short circuit the complex, prolonged, and dated system of the planning and provision of schools in our community?
To ask the Manager to write to the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan TD, to request what new or renewed initiatives she is planning to introduce, including the up-grading of the successful Community Employment Schemes in Ireland. As a former Community Employment Scheme Supervisor I fully support all such initiatives introduced in our communities, including through local authorities such as South Dublin County Council, that seek to provide additional work experience, training etc. to unwaged residents, as well as benefiting the local community by proving work that supplements community services provided by authorities and agencies, including South Dublin County Council?
To ask the Manager to report on what renewed efforts are being made by his department to clean the new graffiti problem in the areas within the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee? Would the Manager set out in detail the work schedules for the coming weeks/months on an area by area basis?
To ask the Manager if the the corner of the 9th Lock Road/New Nangor Road, Clondalkin junction can be tidied up (side near Mormon Church) and, if the Manager thinks it is safe to do so, to remove the rocks in that location?
To ask the Manager to report on the numbers of applicants for grants to adapt dwellings/facilities in the area within the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee, including adapting housing/facilities for our senior citizens, children with special needs etc. Would the Manager report on what efforts are being made to secure alternative funding for such projects where government departments have delayed the release of funding, or what other initiatives will be explored that will help resolve the delays in delivering these much needed adaptation works?
