That this Council rejects the CE recommendation for Haughan’s field and  proposes an amendment to variation no. 2 to the County Development plan to zone these lands to Residential RES with an SLO on the lands as follows: No development shall commence until a masterplan has been agreed with the planning authority showing how approximately 2 ha maximum of land within the RES zoning will be integrated as part of housing development to deliver a sports centre / facility for local sports club including pitch, clubhouse and training pitches. 

REASON:

To deliver much needed housing on fully serviced lands alongside needed local sporting facilities, pitches and clubhouse.

That this Council supports the RES-N zoning at Citywest subject to the amendment of point g of CS8 SLO2 to read as follows: Integrate and deliver as part of housing development a Multi-Purpose Sports Facility (1,500sq m), a sports pitch and a local park with mixed play facilities for the community.

Reason: to deliver much needed housing on fully serviced lands alongside needed local sporting and play facilities and local parks.

That this council accepts the the proposed variation to County Development plan to zone the site in Ballynakelly in Newcastle from Open Space to Residential on condition of the following SLOs

1) Designated zoned secondary school site as per Dept of Education size requirements 

2) Extension to current park

3) Designated sports / community space (site of former proposed Hotel)

Reason: Huge demand for secondary school locally

             Potential for sports - community facility

That this council reject the proposed variation to County Development plan to zone Coldcut from Open Space to Residential

Reason

Coldcut needs a full and detailed plan to address sporting needs in North Clondalkin and Palmerstown in conjunction with local clubs before any rezoning
