That the Manager would submit a report on the current situation with regard to the section of the old Nangor Road between the Mill Centre and Coláiste Chillian, Clondalkin.  There have been several accidents at this area since the Area Committee last met.  The schools have re opened and the real and present danger of serious injury to pedestrians persists.  At what stage are the plans to put in place measures to improve pedestrian safety at this location?

That this Committee supports the promotion and, where financially feasible, the extension of organised activities during the Hallowe'en period, and in particular on Hallowe'en night, to the entire area under the remit of this Committee.

That this Area Committee requests the Manager to prepare drawings and plans on the option of fully removing the existing Lucan Village taxi-rank and relocating it to the south side of the main Lucan Road between the junction at Courtney's and the bus-stop opposite Topaz; and to present such drawings and associated reports, advice and recommendations to the October Area Committee Meeting for consideration by the elected members.

That the Manager gives a detailed update on the Newcastle Area Plan that is to be proposed this year.  Can the Manager give details of the previous plans successes / failures and how will this be incorporated into the new plan?

That the manager continues with the practice of  painting anti dog fouling signs like the ones I recently observed in Tymon Park, and that this initiative be extended to the Public footpaths.

That this Committee expresses concern at the situation in relation to fire services in the Tallaght area such as the size of the Tallaght Fire District, the lack of specialist vehicles and the substandard facilities in the fire station. This Committee will send a letter of support to the trade union representatives of the fire-fighters. This Committee will also articulate the above concerns to Dublin City Council and in particular to the Department of Environment and Local Government.
