MOTION NO. 13
MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner
Cathaoirleach's Business
That the Manager would submit a report on the current situation with regard to the section of the old Nangor Road between the Mill Centre and Colaiste Chillian, Clondalkin. There have been several accidents at this area since the Area Committee last met. The schools have re opened and the real and present danger of serious injury to pedestrians persists. At what stage are the plans to put in place measures to improve pedestrian safety at this location?
REPORT:
There are proposals being examined at present to turn this section of road into a one way system as there is insufficient room to build a new footpath along this section of the Old Nangor Road. Funding has been sought from the NTA so that these measures can be installed. This matter was discussed on site with a number of members before the summer break. The local residents will need to consulted as the proposals will impact on their access and exit from Clondalkin Village.
