"That the Manager provide an overview as to the historical reasons behind the Council’s decision not to permit traffic entry along the Green Route Ballyboden GAA gate during morning and afternoon drop-off times.
That the Manager provide reasons why this Green Route could not be used as a permanent egress and regress to and from the various schools and teaching institutions within the area. If this were to be permitted it would elevate traffic congestion in Templeroan, Ballyroan Crescent and Ballyroan Road during peak school times and for the Manager’s views on how this earlier decision to restrict access could now be reversed by the Council and/or Members.
Assuming an affirmative response to the suggestion to ask that the Manager write a letter to the appropriate person in Ballyboden St. Enda’s GAA permitting the use of the of the Green Route Ballyboden GAA gate for vehicle use into and out of Sancta Maria at morning and afternoon drop-off times during construction works.
That the Manager provide his views on whether or not a left turn in and left turn out signage would maintain free-flowing traffic on this route."
That this Committee:
. Condemns the decision by the Minister for the Environment, Community & Local Government Phil Hogan, T.D. to cut funding from community safety forum/estate management posts in Clondalkin
. Requests the Manager to provide a detailed report on the circumstances surrounding this cut and the impact it will have on the staff and services provided by the staff concerned
. Acknowledges the important work carried out by the community safety forum/estate management staff
. Believes that these cuts and the loss of the workers will result in a significant loss of important community services
. Agrees to write a letter to the Minister for the Environment, Community & Local Government Phil Hogan, T.D. outlining the Committees concerns on this matter and calling on him to reverse the cut
. Agrees to forward a motion to the next full Council meeting of South Dublin County Council seeking support for the views agreed by this Area Committee
To ask the Manager for a comprehensive report outlining how the Boherboy Scheme costs have escalated from €33.5 million to €53 million, with costings included for any additional works carried out and providing the rationale for such works. Can he also outline the sources of funding and the amount in each case, and how South Dublin's portion of this cost is being financed, and at what cost?
