To ask the Manager is there any update on the issue of shopkeepers on Main Street trading from the street? Specifically, has the legality of traders sitting on the street to conduct their business been investigated?
To ask the Manager is there monitoring being done on the progress of work on the Valhalla site on Watery Lane? Specifically, is the Manager satisfied that the conditions with regard to boundary treatment are being adhered to?
1. The boundary wall between the Valhalla site and Castle Grove was to be improved and heightened. Is this being done?
2. Mature trees were to be planted between the site and the houses Castle Grove. Residents are worried that there will not be enough space and wonder when the tree planting will commence. Can this be checked?
3. The boundary wall between the site and the houses at Watery Lane was to be heightened and improved. Is this being done?
To ask the Manager is it possible to turn the name stone at Boot Road so that it is legible for traffic coming into Clondalkin from the Naas direction? It probably needs to be moved back, it was to be done before.
To ask the Manager to pass on the thanks of this Committee to the staff of the Clondalkin Civic Offices for their hard work during the collection of the household tax and for their courtesy and assistance to the many customers who came to the offices to get information and to pay the charge? Their professionalism is much appreciated.
To ask the Manager is there any possibility of using the site at the back of the Mill Centre in Clondalkin or the old CB Packaging site for the skate park for the Clondalkin area?
To ask the Manager how does a Clondalkin resident with a physical handicap apply for allocation of a home in the Valhalla development?
To ask the Manager is there any progress on the issue of cleaning up the litter on the banks of the Camac beside the Civic Offices in Clondalkin?
To ask the Manager can the bins in the Clondalkin area be emptied more frequently? There is a serious problem with these litter bins being full to overflowing. This is particularly so at the weekends. People are trying not to litter but it is very difficult to put litter in the bins when they are overflowing.

That this Committee recommends the drawing up of a comprehensive programme of tree planting in the Clondalkin Village area. At present there is a dearth of trees in the Village. The following locations should be considered:-
1. Main Street. The paved area outside the Credit Union and in front of the old TSB building could be transformed into a beautiful plaza with the planting of some trees and the addition of some under tree seating. Also a mature tree could be planted in the spot now occupied by the derelict phone box that is soon to be removed. Trees in front of the Steering Wheel might detract and distract from the on street trading that so annoys residents.
2. Tower Road. There is plenty of room to plant trees behind the wall in the car park in front of Tuthills / AIB etc. This would greatly enhance the Village centre area. Some of the trees outside the church cottages are dead and need to be replaced.
3. Monastery Road. Some trees can be planted behind the wall at the monastery shopping centre opp Laurel Park. Also in the grass verge at the shops at Castle Park opposite historic Tully's Castle.
That this Committee recommends the planting of some mature trees outside the beautiful and historic library building during the Autumn planting season. This would be a fitting addition to celebrations of the centenary of Clondalkin Library. There is already some lovely planting of flowers at the library. There is, however room and need for a strong statement which the planting of some beautiful trees would make.
To ask the Manager to present a full report on the damage to headstones in Bohernabreena Cemetery on March the 14th last in section 'N' and to outline what steps the Manager has taken to get to the bottom of the matter and to make good the damage caused to the headstones - and to further clarify as to whether the Manager has sought information/report from the Gardai regarding the matter?

That this Committee recommends that the Village centre and Woodford areas of Clondalkin would be supplied with more litter bins. They are needed particularly at the following locations.
1. At the bus stop outside Tesco on the Convent Road.
2. At the bus stops on both sides of the road at Boomers Pub in Woodford
3. At the two bus stops at Orchard Lane.
That the Manager presents a report on the street sweeping schedule in the Clondalkin Area.
That this Committee recommends that a clean up of the Village area be done by Council workers on weekend mornings and that the cost of the service be charged to the fast food operators and off licences who are responsible for the cans, bottles, chip papers, tinfoil take away cartons, pizza boxes etc. that cause such unsightly litter each weekend morning. Alternatively, can the Manager ensure that traders do the clean up themselves? McDonalds ensures that its litter is cleaned up, other businesses should be forced to do the same.
