This committee resolves that the proposed new access points onto the greenway cycle and walking path along the canal in South West Clondalkin only be proceeded with following comprehensive discussion with local residents so that the objections of residents can be taken into account.
Next Meeting: 23rd November, 2012
To ask the Manager to give an update of the water situation for football clubs at Corkagh Park. Has this issue been resolved and how much does each individual club owe?
To ask the Manager to remove without delay the redundant telephone boxes in the centre of Clondalkin Village, one on main street and one adjacent to the Laurels pub, and to have the pavement reinstated. The removal of these telephone boxes was promised to the Tidy Towns Committee as they are an eyesore and a health and safety risk as they are in very poor condition. Similar phone boxes have, we believe, been removed in Rathfarnham. This Committee recommends that the same be done in Clondalkin?
To ask the Manager his views on the following:
to acquire the lands at Kilmatead (Finlay Colley's side which includes the Old Mill House) together with the disused agricultural centre located to the south of the area, and to turn these into Clondalkin's Museum & Heritage Quarter. How many jobs would this create?
To ask the Manager if there is to be any Council support available for the setting up of a group to cater for the needs of retired and unemployed men in the Clondalkin area?
