MOTION: Councillor J. Hannon

That the public realm area at Rua Red be cleared of weeds, cleaned, and put on a regular maintenance programme as it has remained in a disgraceful condition for a long period and reflects poorly on our commitment to maintain high standards in the public realm.

REPORT:

The Council recently sought quotations from three contractors for regular maintenance of the surrounds of County Hall.  A contractor has been chosen to carry out spraying, grass cutting and hedge trimming commencing in 2013 with 25 visits per annum.  As the area in question is in need of immediate attention the contractor has given a once off set price to carry out spraying and cutting and this work will be done on 20th October (weather permitting).  The area immediately outside the entrance to, and side of, Rua Red is the responsibility of that Management Company.
