That the Manager provide a detailed report on the delay in the allocation of the remaining Housing units to be managed by St John of Gods and also the units to be Managed by SDCC on the same site”.
"That this Area Committee recommends that South Dublin County Council initiate a variation of the South Dublin Development Plan as follows:
i) To vary the zoning of the plot of land located between Lucan Educate Together NS & Fforster Square development, as outlined in red on the attached map from Objective A
(residential) to Objective F (open space);
ii) To insert the following specific local objective applying to this plot: “To provide for the development of a Community Garden by local schools and residents in line with Policy
SCR72”
The purpose of this amendment is to dezone a small amount of residential land for the provision of an amenity, as requested by the community, in an already built-up residential area."
That this Committee welcomes the plans outlined at this month's full Council meeting for Hallowe'en activities in the area under the remit of this Committee; that it is again requested that an event be considered for the area east of the M50 (Dublin 12/6w); and that an update be given on activities, events and measures planned around Hallowe'en specific to this area.
"That the Lucan Area Committee, noting the decision of the Government, to merge the CPLN and DVP Area Based Partnerships, registers its support for the work of CPLN in the Lucan Electoral Area, and requests the Manager to write to the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government, conveying the view of the Committee that it supports the work of CPLN and is of the view that any proposed merger should protect specific projects of CPLN in the Lucan EA, the presence, in terms of location of Partnersrhip and project staff in the CPLN Area, and ensure that the services provided for communities in the CPLN area, including the Lucan EA, are continued."
"That this Committee requests the Manager, in seeking future NTA funding, to prioritise measures to improve pedestrian and cycle activity, in particular among school-aged children, along Grange Castle Road between Willsbrook/Ballyowen and Lucan Road junctions, including provision of guard-railing at the footpath edge outside Hermitage & Ballyowen Park estates."
Cathaoirleachs Business
That this Committee discuss the plans for the Greenhills Road realignment project, including the schemes agreed in 2005-06 to reconfigure the Greenhills and Ballymount Rds, to extend Limekiln Rd to the Greenhills Rd, and to realign the road at Parkview, and the CPO's and works carried out to date.
That this Committee reiterates its support for a skatepark in the Tallaght area, as detailed in the County Development Plan, and requests an update on plans to provide such a facility within either electoral area under the remit of this Committee.
That this Committee calls on the Manager to investigate the feasibility of providing a Community Garden in the vicinity of St Dominic’s Community Centre with raised beds etc. It is likely that the current footprint of the existing Centre may have to be increased and could be done in tandem with the agreed in principle MUGA/Play facility that is included in the current County playground programme.
That this Committee welcomes the positive news from the Chief State Solicitors Office and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport on resolving some of the technical matters which were holding up work on the TASC Pavilion planned for Tymon Park. This Committee requests an update on the current status of the project and a projected timeline of the project, and urges the speedy delivery of the TASC Pavilion to cater for the variety of applicable sporting groups and their hundreds of members.
That this Committee calls on the Manager to arrange as a matter of priority to maintain the grassed areas on both sides of Tallaght stream along the ‘black path’ between the Old Bawn Rd and the Bridge at St Dominic’s Rd as this has become so overgrown that it has become a safety/security issue for pedestrians and cyclists alike who use the path. It is also extremely unsightly and does not give a good impression of our County Town at such a prominent location at the junction to the Village.
