QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

To ask the Council to liaise with local Gardaí and business operators regarding the ongoing graffiti problem at two locations (*details provided), and to make a statement on the matter.

REPLY:

The Litter Warden has been requested to carry out an inspection of the Public Houses/ adjoining shops identified and to speak with the owners of the properties concerned in relation to the removal of the graffiti and to have the area cleaned up.  Following this inspection the most appropriate action under the Litter Pollution Act 1997 will be initiated.

The Council will write to the local Gardai and business operators outlining the Councils concern in relation to the graffiti taking place at this location.
