That this Council sets as an objective a programme of self-sufficiency in energy generation, to match its planned improvements in energy efficiency by identifying sites for the production of renewable wind energy for Council use and in particular to emulate and improve upon efforts made by Tipperary County Council (http://tea.ie/projects/tipperary-county-council-solar-pv-2014/) in developing photovoltaic technologies on its buildings and as a result reducing its energy consumption by 171,000 kWh annually, or 11% across all installed buildings, for a co-grant funded investment of €326,850, with an estimated payback of just seven years.
