"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the various items that were discussed at the meeting between the Roads Dept and the Rathcoole Community Council in December 2014."
|

"This committee agrees that the Chief Executive should include provision for additional car parking spaces in Rockfield Drive and inner Boot Road (as per Motion 17 from the June Clondalkin Area Committee) in the estimates for 2016 and 2017."
That this Area Committee:
-
- Noting the comments of representatives of the Luttrelstown Group at the June meeting of this Committee to the effect that no proposal for public access to lands at St. Ed’s has been made to them;
-
- Further noting the various objectives included in draft Development Plan 2016-2022 relating both provision of ‘Green Routes’ and to seeking access to the Liffey Valley, including lands at St. Ed’s;
-
- Calls on the Chief Executive to prepare proposals, to be tabled with the Luttrelstown Group, for the provision of permissive ‘Green Routes’ on lands at St. Ed’s - along the River Liffey, with connections to the Lucan Road – which facilitate continuing agricultural use on the bulk of lands while minimising risks to all; and
-
- Examine how such permissive ‘Green Routes’ could form part of a larger ‘Green Route’ network along the River Liffey with a view to preparing proposals, in conjunction with neighbouring local authorities, to seek Green Route funding from the National Transport Authority or from Government Departments or other bodies.
"This Committee agrees that the Council should cover the cost of installing the street signs for the Knockmitten Community Centre, from either the Community or Roads budgets, as per their application submitted in June."
"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to present a detailed report, for discussion, on progress in finalising the ‘Lucan Access Study’, including plans for the Lucan Road corridor and measure to improve traffic flow at Newcastle Road, including changes to traffic signals and the SuperValu roundabout."

That this Area Committee calls for the establishment of a Special Endeavour Award for Adult Literacy. The award could come in the form of an individual bursary or, ideally, as a financial assist to a local literacy service(s). It could be run on the basis of a written piece by individuals availing of Adult Literacy Services in the County. The award could be funded through the streams available to the Social and Community SPC specified for such purposes. The Committee also respectfully suggests that the" Kieran Swords Adult Literacy Award" may be a suitable title for the award in acknowledgement of Kieran's high regard among Council staff and elected members,and the crucial role Libraries play in education and life long learning. |

| Illegal Dumping in Dodder River “To ask the Manager what measures can the Council take to stop the illegal dumping and polluting into the Dodder River in the Clonskeagh area?” |
It was noted by a Senior Executive Engineer, Environment, South Dublin County Council has advised that the pollution in question was caused by a burst dam in Bohernabreena Reservoir. The resulting flood in the river removed some waste from an old landfill site adjacent to the river. South Dublin County Council is at present assessing an interim solution to the problem and a more extensive study of the landfill will be required to determine the final solution?"
Question to the manager -
"To ask can a pedestrian access be created from Aranleigh Vale to the Walking and Cycling Route from Grange Road to Grange Downs. Resident has lived in the area for many years and noted there was always access to Nutgrove / Divine Word School and Church. Children from this area could very safely walk /cycle to school if this was reopened. In the last number of years this has been blocked off for pedestrians and cyclists - making it very inconvenient. It would also greatly benefit the shops on Barton Drive. At present there is a severe congestion of cars around these shops?"
"To ask the Chief Executive for an update regarding the attached motion (44306) passed at May's Tallaght Area Committee Meeting. What is the general time frame for such reports?"

That this area committee calls for a report on the suitability of the green field bordered by Homelawns Villas and the Seskin View Rd and to the rear of The Crescent Millbrook Lawns and Homelawns Rd for use as allotments or a community garden. This would enable the productive use of a strip of land that is generally unused with limited potential due to its narrowness and proximity to existing back gardens. |
